Our Team
Sarah RobbinsSenior Assistant I joined Grove Pre-school Fundraising Committee as treasurer when my daughters were at Pre-school and was soon asked to become a member of the Pre-school staff. I went on to become Assistant Leader a few years later and Leader in 1999. I completed the pre-school learning Alliance diploma when I first started at Grove and updated it with an NVQ level 3 in childcare in 2005. I am also the designated safeguarding officer. I have completed the Advanced Inter Agency Child Protection training. I have seen lots of changes over the years at Grove Pre-school the introduction of an outside play area, garden and our own entrance being the most notable in recent years. I love the variety of the job – not so keen on the paperwork! Along with all the preschool staff I completed several online Educare courses during lockdown. Sarah has now retired as Leader but continues to be a big part of our Pre-school family.

Louise LuffmanAssistant I worked in Financial Services for 9 years before leaving to have my 2 children. While I was a stay at home mum I trained and did voluntary family support work for a charity, Home Start North Somerset. This gave me an insight into working with children. When my youngest started in reception class, I retrained and qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young Peoples Workforce, Early Years Pathway. I started at Grove Pre School in 2013. I enjoy my job (Much more fun than office work). I have completed the Advanced Inter Agency Child Protection training |
Nikki FergusonAssistant Leader I started working at Grove Pre-school as a member of staff in 2016, after working as a volunteer. My two daughters both attended Grove Pre-school when they were younger, so it was the perfect place to go when they started school and I decided I wanted to renew my experience in early years education. I am thoroughly enjoying my time here, every day is different and I am pleased to now be taking on the role of Assistant Leader |
Caroline ReynoldsPre-school Leader, INCCO and DSO I started volunteering at Grove Pre-school when my youngest daughter attended. I was warmly welcomed by all the staff and really enjoyed spending time with the children, especially in the great outdoor space we have. I've always had a keen interest in child development and early years education, and I have done a range of training to help me to support children in a therapeutic, trauma informed way. I was really pleased when the opportunity arose to join the team as a Pre-school assistant, with the added bonus of Pre-school gardener! With Sarah's support, I became Pre-school Leader in January 2022. I am excited that I have the opportunity to be able to carry on Sarah's hard work providing stimulating, enabling environments to amazing children for years to come |
Nicola BrierleyAssistant Leader and DSL I started at Grove Pre-School in January 2022. I have worked as a teacher for 25 years within EYFS and Primary Phases. I have always had a passion for early years education and enjoy helping the children grow and learn in this significant stage in their development. No two days are the same and the children make me smile everyday. |
Laura Bartlett Assistant I started working at Grove Pre-school in September 2022 and I was made so welcome by all the lovely children and staff. I have always had an interest in Early Years education and when my youngest son started in Reception it seemed like a good time to pursue this. I have already learnt so much here and I have now completed my Level 3 in Early Years Educator Both my children loved it here and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here as well! |
Debbie Mitchell
Assistant
I am so excited to be starting at Grove Pre-school as an Assistant.
Having previously spent time working at a school holiday playscheme in my early 20’s I discovered my love of working with children and knew I’d relish a job within Early Years. The opportunity and timing hasn’t been quite right until now.
With my daughter having attended Grove Pre-School since September 2024, I know what a special place it is and what a wonderful team I am becoming a part of.
I’m looking forward to all the new adventures that being at Grove Pre-school will bring. I love all things crafty so I am especially excited to help the children learn through exploring their creativity.
I will be working towards gaining my Early Years qualifications - it’s never too late to learn!
